![]() ![]() That simply isn't a thing in America any more, since 1945. It literally wouldn't make any sense for quasi-racism towards the Japanese. The problem here is it makes no sense for anyone to claim randomly that an American company would be that biased against Japan. And just as stupidity have refused games for being too old, too. They have famously refused Japanese games for being too Japanese. ![]() The ONLY linking factor being that these games are developed by Japanese studios. Non sexual Japanese games have been refused as well, as have those without child characters, school settings, or adult characters that western people might confuse as being children because they need their eyes checking. And it has nothing to do with the inclusion of sexual content. You only need to follow localisers, et al, to know this. This has happened, and continues to happen. It is known among Japanese companies and localisers that at least one (if not more) Valve employees will (and has) banned Japanese games outright regardless of their content with no chance for an appeal. They have individual employees who have total say on their own unspecified criteria as to what is and isn't allowed. Valve are inconsistent in their prejudice because they don't have a committee that reviews games and decides on set criteria what is and isn't acceptable. I just found it funny especially as a member of the ratings board came out and point balnk said "we have no facility to ban games and we never have". If that were the case, as you say, then why do I have games on various consoles that are rated by PEGI in the EU, while the same games is rated by CERO in Japan, and again by whoever the US ratings are.īut yes, that's indeed what I was pointing out about the chinese whispers amongst the press, and of course I should add that there are tons of Youtubers who have picked up on this and regurgitated it as fact. Wrong - they absolutely should and indeed kinda have to because if they sell in the US, and they have a publisher in the US then they are kinda bound by this. Underage for what? They're not real people. Originally posted by Chocolate Pie Kitten:Seeing the comments on the site Totoro linked all chances that the eventual ban was for underages characters ![]()
